Do I Need a Doula?

Backed by scientific research, the benefits of having a doula by your side extend beyond just comfort. The power of continuous support during childbirth can help you make informed decisions for a safer and more satisfying journey into parenthood.{Reduced Risk of Cesarean Birth:}
39% less likely to have a cesarean birth with a doula.
{Shorter Labor Duration:}
Continuous support from a doula has been associated with a 25% reduction in the length of labor.
{Decreased Need for Pain Medication:}
Studies have shown that the presence of a doula reduces the need for pain medication during childbirth by 10%.
{Higher Satisfaction with Birth Experience:}
Mothers who have doula support are 31% more likely to rate their childbirth experience positively.
{Lower Risk of Newborn Complications:}
Babies born to mothers who had doula support are 14% less likely to be admitted to the NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit).
Choosing to work with a doula is more than just an extra set of hands. It's an investment in your health, your baby's well-being, and your overall birth experience.

About

Hi! I'm Cheryl Ann...Baby lover, hugger, homeschooling mother of 4 - your Mama Bear & encourager.After cherishing an era of stay-at-home momming, running a locally renowned cafe with my husband thru the COVID era while homeschooling, & watching my babies growing into incredible young people - I am now in my forties & somehow just now discovering that I've been a Birth Doula at heart all along the way!I want to see new parents welcome their new season of family life together feeling empowered, respected, & championed. I want to build more stories of transformative, powerfully peaceful births, & lessen the times that new parents leave struggling through trauma, confusion, or regret.I want to give new parents the opportunity to identify their values when it comes to the vulnerable & intimate process of birth. We will honor your values with intentional preparation in nutrition, education, & mindset work together. I'd be honored to serve you.text (512) 771 6068

After bringing my own 4 beautiful babies into this world & supporting other new mamas any chance I get, I've been trained as a Certified Birth Doula by the incredible Jana Johnston of Global Education of the Midwife. I'm so grateful to be gaining birth support experience in your homes with your loved ones, alongside local midwives, & also at Olympic Medical Center in partnership with higher risk specialists.
